With a soap dish, toothbrush holder, towel holder, and toilet paper roll holder that all coordinate in color, your bathroom will take in a nice, drastic effect. It is always best to keep organization in mind and to make good use of the limited space when decorating your bathroom.
The living room is where most of the bonding moments happen among your family and where your visitors spend a lot of their time. It should be an inviting place of comfort with a great sense of style. You can add a bit of spunk into your living room by decorating it with a modern kind of style. Coffee tables with unique designs and rugs with vibrant colors can help to give your living room that special edge. However there are many other kinds of styles that you can bring forth in your living room. One thing that you should keep in mind, however, is that your furniture should always be arranged in the most inviting way.
The secret of successful decorating is good preparation! Professional decorators take time and effort to prepare surfaces for painting, in comparison with the time it actually takes to do the job. If you are doing it yourself, do not skimp on time and effort when getting ready. You should aim for a surface that is dry, smooth, and clean.
Repair damaged surfaces by filling in cracks. Then rub down the repaired surface with glasspaper or sandpaper to achieve smoothness. Before you begin to paint, wash the surface with a damp cloth to remove dust from the wall plaster, and allow to dry.
What about your plan of action? Will anyone else in the family be able to provide help, whether it`s in the preparation, or in the painting, and/or wallpapering itself? And, there`s nothing worse than getting partway through and finding that you have insufficient materials to complete the job. And if the stores are closed you can`t just go out to buy more. So, make sure you have all the tools and decorating materials you need to finish the job.
The variety of materials now available offers you considerable choice when it comes to the style in which you decorate your home. What is practical in your area? Will a decorative wallpaper present a pleasing appearance? Or perhaps you prefer a veneer or a fabric wall covering? You may conclude that a simple coat of paint will provide the look you prefer. Before finally deciding, take into account the practical aspects. These include the cost, the durability of the finish, the ease of installation, and the time and effort needed to maintain and clean the walls. All of this has to be compared with what it would cost to have professionals do the work.
The color of your chosen decorative material is also important. Will it blend with other features of the room? If the room is usually cold, a warm shade of paint will create the sense of warmth. Light blue or green hues will make rooms that are on the warmer side of the house seem cooler. Dark or poorly lighted rooms can be brightened with light-colored finishes.
A kitchen often gets hot of course. Therefore, some prefer a cooler color, to `cool down` the room. A bathroom, on the other hand, is a place where a `warmer` color, a red, or brown, for example, will create a warmer feeling.
Very small rooms suit pale, cool colors. Coat low ceilings with a pale paint, and contrast with slightly darker walls to create an illusion of height. If you choose dark colors bear in mind they absorb heat and have more moisture problems than lighter shades. Dark paint fades quicker, so it’s difficult to touch up.
Now the one of the first ones to admit that bamboo decor may not be your style. This is a very important statement because you do not want to choose something just because it’s popular because every magazine is saying that it’s the way to go. You want to choose a decor for your home that you feel confident with.
Bedroom decor can be as simple as adding just the few items from able to shop in your area. Learned tire stores that focus on just this type of decor. However, you will mainly only find this in your larger areas.
On a recent trip to Seattle I found some incredible shops that have the most unique and the decor that you could ever imagine. Perhaps one of the only drawbacks and I see one of this type of decor - Is that you are limited and color - your choices are lighter shades or a darker shade of bamboo decor.

Bamboo Decor is Not For Everyone

Bamboo decor has become one of the most sought after types of decor for any living situation. In today’s Times people are always looking for that extra touch of class for style to make their home unique. It’s amazing how much you can increase the value of your home by simply adding something a little bit more unique to your home.
In this article let’s look at a couple of possible suggestions you might try if you’re considering a new look and feel for your home. Although you may consider some type of remodeling project to spice things up you do not want to overlook the decor.

2. CREATIVE EXPRESSION: A good interior designer listens to what their clients’ tastes and styles are and involves them heavily in the selection process. Your style will show through in each selection you make. Designers will take you with them to furniture stores. Bring fabric samples to your home to have you review, and involve you in lots of other ways to make sure the final outcome is a reflection of your style - and one that you will bring you great satisfaction in the place where you spend most of your time - your home!
If you don’t feel your designer is listening to you carefully enough, let them know. Keeping an honest and open channel of communication is critical to make sure you’re happy with the final design of your home.
Using a professional designer who makes his or her living by decorating does have its advantages. Think about the number of times you’ve painted a room. Have they always turned out just the way you had imagined? And were they coordinated with the furniture and flowed from one room to the next? Or did you find yourself either repainting a room you just painted or, worse yet, think “ugghh” every time you walked into your bathroom?
Think of your designer as just a helping hand whose advice may save you from some expensive and time-consuming design set-backs.
Plus, the little finishing touches that truly make a house a home are the things that only the client can add to a room. I know as an interior designer, I take the responsibility of helping my clients achieve a great living space that they’ll love and feel accurately reflects their personality and likes very seriously!

So let me respond to each of these arguments in order.
1. COST: Professional interior designers typically are able to purchase furniture at discounted rates from furniture and accessory manufacturers or distributors because of their purchase volume. When you use an interior designer you take advantage of their discounts to purchase furniture through your designer at a cost that is lower than what you would pay on your own. Every designer operates a little differently, but a typical pricing/ fee structure used by a lot of interior designers in Atlanta (where I am based) is “cost plus”. This pricing formula is very common among industries that make purchases on behalf of their clients.
The “cost” in this pricing structure is the designers’ reduced cost for the items you purchase (furniture, accessories, window treatments, etc). The “plus” is a percentage of that cost added to compensate the designer for their services and their sources. Many designers will even waive any hourly fees for clients purchasing a certain amount of furniture through them. In the end, you pay LESS for your home furnishings using a good designer than you do without one. AND, your budget actually goes further with a designer than without one.
An interior designer can save you money in other ways, too, like:
• A designer’s “industry-insider” knowledge helps clients achieve the best results through sourcing options not available to the general public.
• Soft-costs include time saved and higher likelihood of your satisfaction in the end result (no replacement costs for that sofa that’s just too big!)
So, as you can see, using an interior designer actually makes strong financial sense. A professional designer will save you money, save you time, and stretch your budget further than you could on your own.
